Apartment Locating vs. Corporate Housing Providers
Corporate housing — the furnished suite billed monthly — is the default answer many relocation packages reach for. For a 60-day landing it is often the right one. Past about three months, the math and the living usually favor a real lease.
Free to the transferee — communities pay our fee.
Side by side
| Category | Luxe Corporate Relocation | Corporate Housing Providers |
|---|---|---|
| Move-in friction | A normal application and lease: paperwork, screening, deposits, then your own furniture arriving on a truck. | Nearly zero — furnished, utilities on, linens in the closet; you land at the airport and sleep there that night. |
| Monthly cost | Market rent, verified with the community in writing; a one-bedroom typically runs a fraction of a corporate suite’s monthly bill. | Convenience is priced in: a furnished suite commonly bills two to three times the rent of a comparable unfurnished unit. |
| Minimum stay | Standard terms are 12 months; shorter terms exist at a premium and we tell you the real spread before you choose. | Genuinely flexible — 30-day stays and month-to-month extensions are the product’s whole design. |
| Feeling like home | Your furniture, your lease, your name on the mailbox — the psychological line between “assignment” and “I moved here.” | Comfortable but hotel-adjacent; someone else chose the couch, and it shows at month four. |
| Who chooses the location | You do, from a shortlist matched to your office corridor and rush-hour reality. | You pick from the provider’s inventory, which clusters where the provider has units, not where your commute is best. |
| Cost to you | Nothing — the community pays our locator fee, and you sign at the community’s own verified rate. | Paid by you or billed against your relocation budget, where it consumes the package fastest of any option. |
Our view
The honest verdict
Corporate housing genuinely wins the first month: no other option lets you land with a suitcase and be functional by morning, and for stays under about three months, or while you wait on a house closing, it is often the right call — we say so when it is. But it is the most expensive way to sleep in San Antonio, and on a lump-sum package every furnished week is money that could have been a deposit, a mover or savings. Our honest pattern: take a short corporate stay if you need the runway, and let us have a verified lease ready before the expensive weeks pile up.

Apartment Locating vs. Hotel & Per-Diem Living
Plenty of transferees land in an extended-stay off Loop 410 “for a couple of weeks” and are still there in month two. Hotels win on pure flexibility. They lose almost everywhere else, and the losing compounds weekly.

Apartment Locating vs. Your Relocation Portal
Most relocation packages include a portal login: browse listings, view neighborhood scores, manage your move. As a research tool it is genuinely useful. As the whole plan, it has three quiet failure modes — staleness, unverified pricing and zero local commute truth.
